Welcome to TaxFigure. This section walks you through everything you need to do on your first day — from signing in to seeing your firm and clients live in the app.

Sign in

Multi-factor authentication

Enroll a TOTP authenticator and store your backup codes.

Onboarding

Accept an invitation, create your account, answer the optional survey, and complete your profile.

Join an existing firm

Accept an invitation from a teammate or firm administrator.

Keyboard shortcuts

Cmd+K palette, Cmd+E entity cycle, Cmd+J notes, and more.

What you'll need

A TaxFigure account — either created at sign-up or via an invitation from your firm administrator.
An authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, etc.) for multi-factor authentication.
Your firm details (name, license info) if you're the first administrator setting up the firm.

After onboarding

Once you've completed onboarding, your next stops are typically:

AI Chat — the primary interface for asking tax questions.
Entities — add your first client.
Documents — upload returns and source documents.
